The Trapanese founder of the Russo family, Antonio, founded the first inn around 1870, in the immediate vicinity of the port. Antonio and his wife Giuseppa did not lack enterprise and a flair for business, which went off without a hitch. So much so that in just a few years they managed to set aside the necessary funds to build two proper hotels. The 'New Russian Hotel' was thus inaugurated after the First Great War.
The recent history of the city of Trapani is also our history. Since the middle of the last century, the generations that have taken over the hotel business have had the burden and honour of welcoming and accommodating guests from all over the world. A privileged ‘window’ on a rapidly changing world, in particular from the 1950s to the end of the last century.
In recent years, despite some difficulties due to the ‘aches and pains’ of the times, the Russo family has taken up the challenge of renewal and modernisation . A modernisation process has therefore been initiated and is still ongoing. Some of our rooms have already been completely renovated. Others will be soon.
